1st Summit Bank is proud to name Payton McGough and Sadie Davison as the winners of its annual 1st Summit Bank G.H. Miller & McKelvey Family Scholarship. Both recipients have been awarded $2,500 for tuition costs at the Pennsylvania-based school they are attending this fall.
Ms. McGough, Summerhill, is a 2022 graduate of Forest Hills High School and is currently attending Saint Francis University to obtain a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Science.
Ms. Davison, Lilly, is a 2022 graduate of Penn Cambria High School. She is attending Juniata College in a 3+1 Accelerated Communications & MBA Dual Degree with a minor in integrated media art.
“Awarding this scholarship on an annual basis is one of the most rewarding things we do at 1st Summit Bank,” said Sean McCool, Assistant Vice President & Business Relationship Manager. “It is an honor to help students reach their goals.”
Ms. McGough and Ms. Davison were chosen as winners of the scholarship after submitting an essay that asked how they serve and support their community both currently and into the future.
“1st Summit Bank has been invested in the communities where we work and live for almost a century now,” McCool said. “Both Payton and Sadie embody the mindset of continually giving back to others and have proven their commitment to making our hometown a better place.”
The two $2,500 scholarships are awarded annually in memory of G.H. Miller, a former 1st Summit Bank president, and his granddaughter, Jeanne Wolford McKelvey, Esq., who served on the Bank’s Board of Directors.
