Celebrating its 100th year in business in 2024, 1st Summit Bank is proud to announce the appointment of Tobie Gunby as their new Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.
Ms. Gunby brings to 1st Summit Bank over 20 years of experience specializing in helping organizations both set up and maintain compliant successful HR systems. In addition, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in overseeing talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning efforts to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains a skilled and diverse workforce. She has developed programs to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being while fostering a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
Tobie previously held the title of Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Talent Acquisition at AmeriServ Financial at which she spent 15+ years.
Her extensive education has led her to successfully obtaining degrees such as a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from Saint Francis University in Loretto, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, and an Associate Degree in Management Communications from Penn Highlands Community College in Johnstown. She also holds two certification designations, SHRM-CP and PHR. She completed coursework from the PA Bankers Association School of Banking and is a Certified Life Coach.
