1st Summit Bank is proud to announce the successful transfer of its former Beaverdale office building to the Summerhill Township Volunteer Fire Company on November 27, 2024. After the difficult decision to close this office in April 2024, the bank chose to donate the property to a local, vital organization, ensuring it would continue to serve the community.
“The Beaverdale community has been good to us since our opening in 1974,” said J. Eric Renner, President & CEO of 1st Summit Bank. “While it was a difficult decision to close this office, we wanted to support the community by donating the building to the Fire Department, which needed the additional space. This donation is our way of continuing our support.”
On Friday, December 6, 2024, professionals from the Bank and representatives from the Fire Department gathered to officially mark the transition of ownership with the symbolic handing over of the keys. Though it was a bittersweet moment for the bank, the positive impact of the donation on the Fire Company was evident.
Supporting local businesses and non-profits in the communities served by the bank remains a top priority, as it has been for over 100 years. The bank’s dedication to these efforts continues to be a cornerstone of its operations as it looks ahead to the next century of service.
1st Summit Bank extends its gratitude to the Summerhill Township Volunteer Fire Company for working closely with them during the transition and wishes the Fire Company success with its new space.
