1st Summit Bank is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Ken Lantzy All-Star Classic. This ten-year commitment from 1st Summit Bank will result in the annual game to be renamed the “1st Summit Bank Ken Lantzy All-Star Classic.”
1st Summit Bank’s financial commitment to the program will provide vital funding for the academic and performance scholarships that are awarded to the students that participate in the game. The partnership funds will also be used to close the gap on the organization’s budget with rising costs over recent years.
“The 1st Summit Bank Ken Lantzy All-Star Classic is a staple program for the youth of our community,” said Eric Renner, President & CEO of 1st Summit Bank. “Being able to come alongside such a great organization with strong leadership was a perfect fit for the bank. We want to be actively engaged in supporting and strengthening the events that make our hometown a great place to live, work, and play.”
The Ken Lantzy All-Star Classic was first played in 1971 and now takes place annually in June. In addition to the chosen players from 40 school districts in our region, the event features an all-star band and cheerleaders. The Southern Alleghenies Football Coaches Association is responsible for annual event.
“The Lantzy game has become part of the fabric of our Western/Central Pennsylvania region,” said Ralph DeMarco, Chairman of the Ken Lantzy All-Star Game Committee. “With this sponsorship from 1st Summit Bank, the game will continue to be played for generations to come. 1st Summit is a proven, positive force in our region and beyond.”
The 1st Summit Bank Ken Lantzy All-Star Classic will be played on June 16, 2023 at Greater Johnstown High School. Kickoff will be at 7pm.
